Patrons who elect to receive overdue notices electronically should be aware that e-mail, data files and user identities may be subject to record retention and retained records may be subject to disclosure in the course of litigation, criminal investigations or other legal process.  Furthermore, if the patron shares the use of his/her computer with others, an election to receive overdue notices electronically constitutes a waiver of the patron's right of privacy with respect to information contained in such notices.
